The Pett Farm
Glen & Becky Petteway Fordland, MO
Nestled in the rolling, rocky, hills of the Ozarks is the "Pett Farm". We have 160 acres of Walnut, Oak and Hickory trees with a touch of Dogwood and Sassafrass. We also have our pastures for Purebred Registered Irish Dexter Cattle.
Our goal is to provide purebred Registered Irish Dexter Cattle. We breed for quality conformation and well tempered cows.
You'll find we have Black, Red & Dun, Chondro Carriers (short-legged) and Non-chondro Carriers (long-legged). All of our calves are de-horned if they are not polled.
We test for Chondrodysplasia, PHA, and genotype our heifers. We have genotyped our entire herd so every calf born can be parentage verified. Our cattle are grass fed and finished. This contributes to the high percentage of Conjugated Linoleic Acid found in grass fed cattle. We have our butcher hang the meat for 21 days, this contributes to more tender meat. We do not use steroids, hormones, or prophylactic antibiotics.
Check out our Dexter Cattle under 'The Bulls' and 'The Girls' found under Dexters for Sale. We will try and keep the 'Dexters for Sale' updated with current information.
Please feel free to contact us about any available cows!
